I’ve got a lovely new stainless steel radiator support for my 146.

Question is - should I paint it (black) before fitting it???

I would say no. I wish I'd changed mine for a stainless steel one, but decided instead to wire brush and paint with POR15, but the rust is coming through again.

I am totally with you, Vroom

having seen a picture of Jeremy's radiator support; it looks pretty amazing left bare! And they are quite cheap...

In the end, I did paint it black - to match the rest of the car.

A few months ago I replaced the radiator support on my GT without painting it - and slightly regretted it.
