hmmm..

this one has got me stumped-

has anyone identified a source of the THESE guys?

It's the air re-circ / AC button backlight lamp, from the heater control-panel

I can't say I've seen a lamp so small on a car ever!

I think they might be 286 T5 capless bulbs - should just pull out the holder. Just bought some for the freelander

Yeah, the 286 bulbs are the ones for the dashboard itself...

Hopefully it'll be a success. Watch this space...

I've got some filament-to-open-wire lamps coming from Germany. The dimensions looked comparable...

These are the same sizes as the dashboard (speedometer, rev, fuel, temp). I got mine from ebay. The plastic holders can be tricky to seat properly.

really?

I wonder if that's a CF1 thing, Ganz; because my instruments only had one replaceable incandescent 286 lamp, which was in a red-holder behind the digital odometer display.
I wonder if the CF2's are all LED...

Anyway- this is what I've had arrive.
They're a little bit bigger as it happens, but still considerably smaller than the 286 lamps. I'll have to see if I can rustle something up today...

P.S.- if you can find a link for those things from eBay Ganz- I'd be intrigued; because I couldn't...

actually-

it seems to be exactly the same and has worked. These are the lamps

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-Lampen-12V-60m...872.m2749.l2649

You un-thread the existing failed lamp from the holder, and re-thread a new one into it...

standby for more low-light photography, as I can't show it working in daylight!

On my Phase 1 car, all of the instrument bulbs were of the 286 type:

... four to provide the backlighting, and one to illuminate the odometer.

And BTW, awesome job on replacing those tiny bulbs!
