Well looky here... my old black 145 is for sale on eBay again:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265053094684

Looks like itís changed hands from the guy I sold it to...

If anyone is interested in it, this car was not rusty when I sold it in 2019.

Here's a picture of it on the way down to Southern Alfa Day in 2019 (remember when there were car meets?):

Very tempted by it, good to know it's a known car. coolio.gif
Any issues with it?

Of course - I'd much rather it was back in the family, so to speak!

I was half tempted to bid for it myself, but I'm not sure there's much more I'd want to do to it, aside from sourcing a black leather interior...

Hi - I'll respond separately to your PM, but for general info:

I bought this car in 2018 after it was advertised on this forum. It had been laid up for almost 10 years as I recall, but the owner was losing his storage (his parents were downsizing) and needed to shift it.

Here's what it looked like on the day I pulled it out of the seller's garage...

... and here's a link to the resto thread I ran here, where you can see all the work I did on the car:

http://forum.alfa145.com/index.php?showtopic=24895

Basically, it was pretty sound and had a lot of service history plus all three keys. It was very original and my objective was to keep it that way.

It did need some welding to the floor (but not that much); plus I gave it a full service inc. cambelt and water pump, thermostat and all fluids/filters.

Obviously there were numerous other things that needed fixing along the way - as you'll see from the post above - but in the end it was a genuinely sorted, original spec car.

The interior was grey fabric (again, in good condition) with no aircon - although it had a factory sunroof.

In 2019 I had an offer to buy from a local collector/dealer of 80s cars who took a fancy to it - I sold it to him with the original pepperpot wheels.

He improved the bodywork with a spot of PDR (good) but then added some aftermarket 17" wheels (not so good), ripped out the original airbox and replaced it with a cone intake system, moved the font number plate to the side of the front bumper, painted the (new) front grille black, and added the blue/black stickers over the reflectors on the rear bumper. He may have done other stuff too - he was posting on the AROC Alfa 145/6 Facebook group for a while after he bought it. Later in 2019 he had it up for sale again.

Looking at the current ad on eBay, the present owner has put it back on some original pepperpot wheels and purchased some other original bits (including the inlet piping, by the look of things).

Plus, looking at the mileage, the car has obviously been used - I sold it on 90k and it's now up to 103k - which is good to see.

All in all, it was a good, original car with a solid floor. Everything worked (including the sunroof!)... and I see from the ad that it has recently had a new exhaust and clutch master cylinder.

Cosmetically it was pretty good when I sold it - and I think the next owner improved it. However, I can see in the eBay ad that there are still some scratches on the passenger door that were present when I sold it.

Finally - it was a Cat D write-off under the previous owner - one of the doors was damaged in an accident, which the previous owner replaced with a good second hand unit. You don't notice this on the car - but obviously there is a note on the V5 that it was a former write off.

So, very well worth a punt, I'd say!

UPDATE: the car has sold to a member of the 145/146 Facebook Group.

I've sent him in the direction of this forum, so hopefully we'll see him here soon!

Hello! I'm the guy that bought it. Have just posted a new thread in the 'you and your car' section.

Kind of wish I'd seen the 16 page restoration thread from Jeremy before I bought the thing! But glad to see now that it's been well looked after 😊
