I've just picked up a brochure for my model year of Cloverleaf.

On the list of standard equipment is stated as having a remote control alarm system.

This is news to me!!

Can anyone tell me how to tell if I have? I dont have a button on my key if that helps!!

Cheers,

Jason

It will be a Philips alarm.

The control box is in the boot, on the drivers side in the corner underneath the carpet. There is a door cut in to the carpet.

But I didn't think these where IR but RF. I still have my old keys some where.

Yours is a bit of a hodge podge. Later style master key, early style main key and what look like aftermarket fobs??

The fobs are IR and are the same as my picture.

Mine is different again. My master key, 1996 qv, has a burgandy square top, with that shape red key and' after market' look Philips alarm.

Should either be:

Square Bergandy Master + Red key with no button + Fob (IR)

or

Curvy Bergandy Master + Red key with button (RF)

They must have done something different with the 145 and fitted an aftermarket style alarm? I expect Pimp has had an ECU change somewhere along the line?

Yes you should have 2 normal non master keys.

I think this is another thing Alfa made up as they went along!

Did anyone get a key for the alarm?? I have 2 different keys only one works! The mind boggles laugh.gif

Forgot, I got a different key again for the alarm. Its the Philips alarm that was fitted at the docks to supplement the Alfa CODE system in the early cars. Later ones had an integrated system fitted at the factory.

No its not a hodge podge.

I have had two 145's a erly one 1st pic (no red key). and the 2nd pic is for the later 145. With the later one i have the same shape key with a button on the side.

Can every one please take a picture of your keys (that we don't have all ready) and then we can start a post with all the types of keys and alarm, then we can be sure which is the ones we are talking about.

Pimpy, your first alarm fob (yellow button) doesn't look like an official Alfa one.

That yellow button one was fitted by Alfa UK in the docks to satisfy British insurers who felt that the CODE system was not sufficient (as we all know it is more than sufficent at being bloody inconvenient to those who own their Alfas). Hence the after market look, but it was supplied as standard, got the booklet with the manual. Mine is the same as PIMPs top picture, early qv. Alarm long since broken though and Philips no longer make car alarms.

Early cars had these keys and either a black Alfa alarm fob or the Philips one...

Yes these are the ones I have but with the yellow Philips alarm fob...

The later cars had this style burgundy master key and the same style normal key in red with a button on the side (same as the 156)...

I have the early keys, with no buttons, yet my remote is a meta one. I've been told it was 'factory fitted' IE the car came with it.....but it doesnt open the doors?

The unit itself is under the bonnet.

Also, it haven't got, nor does it ever look to have had a unit in the boot.

1996 boxer 8v?
