FYI
(correct me if im wrong) But for the twin spark variants... 1.6 1.8 2.0 in the UK:

1996 - 1997 - Phase 1 - Preface lift car using CF1 Alloy Top engine using the M2.10.3 ECU EPROMM CHIPABLE - EXHAUST 2 bolt flange cat exit
1997 - 1998 - Phase 1.1 - Preface lift car using CF1 Alloy Top engine using the M2.10.4 ECU EPROMM CHIPABLE - EXHAUST slip on cat exit
1998- 1999 - Phase 1.2 - Preface lift car using CF2 plastic top engine - ECU is re-mappable - EXHAUST slip on cat exit
1999 - 2000 - Phase 2 - Facelift Car using CF2 plastic top engine - ECU is re-mappable - EXHAUST slip on cat exit

Some of the differences between the Phase 1's and Phase 2's are: Front and rear bumpers, fog lights, grill, factory alloy wheels are different, the clocks on the dash have metal rings around them, the seats have side air bags fitted. There are more, but this is all i can think of at this time.

The CF1 Twinspark and CF2 engines were fitted to these cars. The CF1 being the alloy top and CF2 being the plastic top.

CF1 - Alloy Rocker Cover, alloy inlet manifold and plendium chamber, ECU in the car. 150 hp Stock
CF2 - Plastic Rocker Cover, plastic variable length inlet manifold and plendium chamber, ECU on top of the throttle body. 155hp Stock.

There are other differences with the engines such as the inlet cam phase sensor etc but the main ones are listed above

Then I make a list of models from the rest of Europe and South America and I translate it and add to the topic. If you agree.

Good job Langers!

Aside from those already noted one difference between my old (1996) phase 1 and my current phase 2 1.8 is that the newer one has additional demister vents either end of the dash.

what month was the 1997 change over on the logbook?, when i go looking for a small part at a local parts dealer i go knowing 99% what i want and they just end up confusing me (partly because they dont have a friggin clue)

in fact silly question here but,
there registered as there sold aren't they meaning,
Well do you think could you own a phase 1.1 allytop and have a prior registration to a phase 1?

my cat had 3 bolts or is that not what the above means with the 2 bolt slip on etc

Every CAT has a 3 bolt flange entry, the info above refers to the exit of the CAT.

My Oct 96 has a 2.10.4 ECU and a slip on exhaust. Take cut-off dates for Alfas with a very large pinch of salt. They used whatever they had to hand in the factory at the time I think.

The extra vents (circular) came in on the 1997 cars i do belive.

To clear more of the screen.

No the early cars had one long vent in the dash and then the later cars had the extra vents as the long vent did not clear the far corners of the screen.

Hello,

I was wondering if rear lights have any difference from ph1 to ph2?
Fitting is the same, but is there any difference in looks?
Or maybe Limited 500 had different lights?
In pictures I can't find any difference..

Thank You coolio.gif
