I've been up my mates garage all day weilding up bits of they exaust and getting the bumpers off and ready for paint and preppin the wheels for paint I think it will look much better with a lick of paint all I need to do now is get a new manifold gasket and find were the knockin is comin from on the front end under hard acceleration and I'll be a bit happier with it still a long way to go but I'm makin progress.
I have loads of pics if any one no's how to uplaod them from an iPhone??.

Agreed. We're probably all getting a bit wrapped up in power figures here when lets face it, a FWD 145 is going to be pretty undrivable with more than 300bhp going through the front wheels.

I'll get back to you on that one! With the mods on mine it books at 300hp...

Got my BC racing coilovers finally. They look fantastic, I'll get some pics up this weekend. Adjustable pillow ball top mounts, all very nice coolio.gif

Put my name down for a short shift kit on the Berlina Sportivo forum as well.

Progress been a bit slow, my other car has been misbehaving recently so that's my excuse but basically I've been putting off going near the wiring blush.gif

A few other bits done, I'll get some pics up soon. Deadline is Brooklands Auto Italia in May so I better get a move on!

Great! Eager to see some pics!

Can't wait to fit the QV with some coilovers blush.gif

300hp in a FWD car, first thing i'd buy is a LSD.

No updates as I got flu so was in bed playing Forza4 instead of working on the car.

Coilovers and thicker ARBs make a huge difference on these cars, not cheap but definetly worth doing.

There are loads of 300bhp + Coupes on the Fccuk forum and most of them seem to cope. Having said that, I will be fitting a quaife diff!

Front subframe on, new wishbones and drop links (all polybushed), Whiteline ARB and V6 track rod ends on. Fiat Coupe BC Racing coilovers fitted as well, they are very nice and come with adjustable top mounts as well coolio.gif

Wiring partly done, engine will be in soon!!! Need to sort back end of the car out as well, calipers have seized mad.gif

To any one else that's done the swap.....

....Think I have made an error on the track rod ends though. Sure I read that you need 155 V6 ones but they don't appear long enough, will I need to change track rods as well?

Does anyone know if the rear radius arm on a 145 is the same as a Coupe??

Rear ends the same I believe...

155 V6 ones? Are you still using the 145 Subframe and with the 16VT Hubs? Why wont the 16VT ones fit?

Thought the threads on the TRE were different to the Alfa steering rack???

I think I had to use 164 track rod ends - the taper in the Fiat Coupe hubs is larger than the 145 tapered ball joint, but the thread on the Fiat Coupe track rod ends was too big or too small - I forget which. Assuming the steering rack has the same size thread across all the 145 variants.

I measured the taper and the thread diameter and length and went to my local motor factors and we went through the book looking at the dimensions of all the Fiat/Alfa ends and the 164 was perfect. Unforunately I can't remember if they were twin spark or the V6 ones, or if there was any difference.

Websites are like a**eholes, everyone has one, and im wary of any bloke trying to direct people into their's.

The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, 'Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride...' And we ... kill those people.

Brilliant, thank you AJ.

Luckily I work at a motorfactors so two new 164 TREs ordered up coolio.gif Fiat Coupes are M12 and the Alfas are M14. The 155 V6 TREs are not long enough but 164 (twinny or V6) look spot on.

I tried to reply to your PM but it wouldn't let me.

Studs came from Demon Tweeks, I used some from Rally Designs before but these are much better quality. M12x1.25 thread, don't remember the length! Got some black lightweight ally nuts as well coolio.gif

Might have a set of red lightweight nuts for sale.... coolio.gif
