Started off with a tatty 16vT Coupe, good engine though with good oil pressure. No play in the turbo either.

Cut the front end off and got to work the day after we got it back home.

Stripped everything I'll need although I think the fuel evaporation stuff may have been thrown away by mistake.

Compulsory standing in the empty enigne bay looking a bit gay picture

Twin spark coming out

Fannymould coolio.gif

Gave the rocker cover a good clean with a drill extension and generally tidied it up a bit. Sump was taken off and stripped to bare metal then resprayed in high temp silver.

Got loads of silicone hoses ready to go on soon. Also got an electronic boost controller, Stack boost gauge, Forge dump valve plus a few more nice bits. Will have a FMIC once I've been paid again!

Also been stripping and spraying various bits. Front subframe is gaining polybushed wishbones and Whiteline ARBs, just gotta give it a few more layers of paint.

Currently waiting for BC racing Coupe coilovers to arrive coolio.gif coolio.gif

Just got to make a start on the wiring now which has got me a bit worried blink.gif

Manifold went on fine, no problems at all. Bit of a pain getting at the nuts to tighten them up though.

As for the wiring changes, not much really:
-fuel pump
-relays, power etc
-gauges (I got temp, water, speedo & revs all working correctly with the Alfa dials)
-reverse light
-starter command from the ignition barrel.
-fans

Keep the plug and bit of wire that has the starter, rev lights etc on as you will need to check which pins are which, it wasn't clear in the manual (thanks Gary). In fact you could probably use the original and just change a couple of the connectors might be even easier.

Ok stupid question time, so is this just a case of finding the equivalent wires on the 145, cutting them and soldering the Fiat ends on?

I'm not great with the wiring side blush.gif

No, I can't afford a bigger turbo now mad.gif mad.gif Moving house once the car is done so need to save as much money as possible. Have been offered a Sierra Cossie turbo for free though, will eventually rebuild it.

Not bought the intercooler yet, Forge do a nice universal one that should fit.

Oh, Smallville is much taller than me!

Pretty much - I don't know how it compares with the pre-facelift, but I'm sure all I did was cut and join the wires. I think the main difference is on the facelift the fuel pump signal wire is from the ECU, and on the pre-facelift it is from the ignition - though you might want to check that.

What intercooler are you going for? I need to find a larger, probably front mount for mine.

Websites are like a**eholes, everyone has one, and im wary of any bloke trying to direct people into their's.

The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, 'Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride...' And we ... kill those people.

Thanks, I've printed the wiring diagrams so that's my homework this week!

I need to measure how much space I've got inside the front bumper so that's a job for the weekend now, don't want to cut anything up to fit the intercooler. Got a feeling it's gonna be a tight fit!

Right, I think I'll be going for Forge Type 08:

http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.a...uct=FMINT104UNI

Going to be a really tight fit though, I'll need to trim the inside of the bumper. I'm sure the prefacelift bumper has less space behind it than the facelift mad.gif

Made a start on the wiring this weekend, stripped and painted some bits and bobs, pics to follow.

Anyone know what the 30amp Maxi blade fuse on the right hand side of the engine bay is for? It's the one on it's own that clips on to a bracket bolted to the suspension turret. I couldn't find it on the wiring diagram!!
