update,,,
the guy has not got back to me with the phone number for the bloke who does the ecu stuff,,,
so might have to put his barrel and key and codereader in,,,,still debating what to do,,
anyways i found that critts old bumper hadd ript apart were it hadd a not so gd repair,,,
so hadd to buy some fiberglass mating to repair ,,then filler,,,,dont you just luv that stuff,,,,lol,

then i decidid to paint the engine bay and sort the little bitts of rust,

then i noticed that the bojjin knob who had the fiat before me hadd painted the brakes in hammer right,,
anyway he left the rust on and did a very poor job,so i hadd to nock all the rust off,
grind them back up,washed them in thinners,,,and hay presto

a bitt bright butt by the time brake dust hitts them they will carm down a bitt ,
hopefully engine will be going in soon,,,,n1 dell

Nice one Dells. Thats something i wish i had done when my engine was out, get in the engine bay, clean it up and paint it in hamerite!!! I think in the winter i will take out the battery tray etc, bumper off, wings off etc and attack everything so it is spik and span.

Nice brakes, i have bright blue ones! Some red covered braided hoses would look good on that!
If you want full braided all round, even the lines then give RAT a call. They can do it quite cheap.

Will be nice to see all these projects lined up when finished. . .mine will be a while tho, mine, all i got to wait for now for the looks are window tints. Got the springs and shockers shorted!

What make are those discs?

Good job you are doing on that beauty! Have you ever thought of fitting 305mm discs with 4 pot calipers?

Should surprise a few porsche drivers when it's finished. Nice project.

BTW I work with turbos - don't worry about a little play in the shaft, they're like that from new. It's to allow for all the expansion when the shaft is running at 300 degrees and spinning at 200,000rpm!

Its only if one of the wheels is touching the housing that you should worry.

Are using the Coupe suspension? Did the 16Vs not come with Brembos?

I've decided I'm going to do the same swap to my 155 track car, keep up the good work cos I'll be copying you shortly!!! worshippy.gif coolio.gif

You need to use Coupe suspension and brakes. The 16vt's don't have Brembos but the 20vt's do - but I don't think you can use the 20vt hub, I can't remember what is different, driveshaft or steering arm.

The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, 'Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride...' And we ... kill those people.

Thanks AJ, guess I'll have to stick my coilovers on the 145.

I've just bought a Quaife ATB for Twin sparks, will this fit the Coupe box? Will it be any better than the diff in the Coupe?

(Sorry for the questions, there will probably be more!)

Nice one dells.....yeah, that bumper got t**tted by wor lass, I'm sure it was one of the spots that I repaired originally tbh.
The paint I used when my wife done it a 2nd time was from halfords and tbh wasn't a very good match.
It would have been more noticable with the bumper off though cause I done the repair with bumper on the car on a sunday afternoon...lol.

Good work - have you changed the fuel pump for the fiat one?
I take it new clutch, all new fluids etc?

the fuel pump on the coupe is a better one than the alfa one, obviously suited to the fiat engine so i'd recommend the fitting of that.

if you look on the fiat forum there is a wiring mod you can do to the fuel pump wiring.

if i remember correctly its the adding of a relay and better wires.

might be worth doing if your looking at making it go faster at a later date

i no about the wiring mod,
am going to have to gett it wired in anyway,as the live wire for pump runs just off ecu,
sure it will be fine,
what does bother me is i sent the ecu to notts to be decoded, they rings me yesterday,
o i never saw one of these be4 and we can not do it,,,after telling me they can
so i got to drive all the way to ikea to go pick it back up,,,
waste of time,,,,so am back to swoping every thing over,,
am right in thinking to gett the code box out the alfa i need the clocks out to gett to the code box???
