Yeah you can drop the aircon pump, I did this. If you take it and the power steering pump off you will see that you can move the power steering pump up slightly iirc and the belt will run fine. I think you need to get a different belt though, you need one for non air con.

You need to reverse the pulley on the power steering pump and it will then line up to run off the belt straight from the crank.

I think the PS pump moves down and I think shares the bottom original mount of the PS pump and the top mount of the aircon pump:

1. old location of the power steering pump
2. old holes to tighten the belt
3. New location for the servo
4. new holes to tighten the belt
5. location of the A/C compressor

You will need a belt for the model without the A/C witch is shorter wink.gif You don't need to drill any holes...everything is just a matter of bolting it on.

This is how the guys here in slovenia do it on their 155 Q4's but the engine is the same so it should work whistle.gif

Looks like a good project.
Is that Coupe Ink Black?
Does it have a good front or rear bumper and would you want to sell them if you have them?
Best of luck with the conversion.

You have to unwrap all the loom, there are a few wires that can be stripped out or cut where it goes into the car.

Look at the pinout diagram, look at the connector, then trace each wire for each pin to the plug. Do this for all plugs, then anything that isn't needed can be removed. There are a few other bits like relays, ignition amps, power distribution box etc but these are fairly easy to seperate. I hope you labelled each connector before you took it off the sensor, it makes life much easier!

i would if i could,,and yes i did labelled them,so no one noes what that 6 pin plug does on the alfa ??
that linky for the wireing diagram only half the pages load up so am i missing something??
i have downloaded loads of wiring diagrams butt they dont seem to be telling me what i need to no,
i understand that ive got to strip the loom out and split it up, ive manage to sort the speedo and starter of my alfa loom,
like i said ive got about 10 wires am unsure about, just need a colour code for the wires,
ive still not hadd a sparky look at it ,trying to sort it myself at mo,,
i think am going to start getting the engine in this week, ive got most of me parts now,
then worrie about wires,,
i no someone eles in leicester who done the same conversion on a fiat bravo, and he said just bang the engine in then do the wiring,
sure i will be fine, am not flapping yett,,lol

I'm confused...is that 6-pin plug on the Alfa bulkhead or on the Coupe bulkhead (i.e. in the Alfa or Coupe loom)?

With the pictures that don't load up, it seems to be a problem with their web server so just right click any unloaded pictures one by one and select "Show Picture" (assuming you're using Internet Explorer). They will then load.
