As it happens, I ended up with the car that was posted up here last month from my old home town of Fleet...

http://forum.alfa145.com/index.php?showtopic=24855

Here it is, having been gently pulled out of its hibernation place for the first time in nearly 8 years... so, time for a new thread, right?

yes, I suppose so

A shame to see the end of the 146 1.8 Project Thread, for another 145 QV thread, but thats the way it goes

You can't save them all!

Have you been able to drive it back, Jeremy- or did you need to arrange transport for it?

I arranged transport (via www.shiply.com - worked very well).

I didn't dare trying to start the car after all this time - and besides, I couldn't open the bonnet...

Lots of work to do - hoping to get started later today.

The 146 has now been collected by its new owner. Like me, he's bought it to save it - but as he's a trader he may well end up breaking it.

Well, folks - remember this car - the Nero Fuoco 146?

I came across a post on Facebook from an earlier owner trying to track the car down - it was her first car, she loved it and had regretted selling it.

As it happens I still had the contact details of the guy who bought it from me, so I called him this morning to find he still had it, and hadn't touched it since he bought it!!!

Anyway - I've put the two of them in touch so hopefully they can get a deal done to keep the car on the road. I really hope it works out!

Small world, eh?

That's amazing! I can't believe you've joined the two together! Perhaps if she gets it back- the new owner will become a member on here !

It would be awesome to have this car back on the road again.

If the previous owner doesn't bite I'm tempted to have another crack at it myself over the summer. Andy (the guy who bought it from me) was adamant that it was too good to break, so I'm really glad he's been true to his word.
