The only boost of power i can feel on my CF1 TS engine is between 2500-4000rpm which is when the phase variator operates. Above 4k rpm the engine climbs real nice up to 7k rpm, but there's no ninja kick in acceleration at high rpms like in the VTEC Honda engines.
What you can do in your car as a test is go real slow in low revs, say around 2k rpm in 1st or 2nd gear, then hit the throttle hard and see if you feel a small boost of power after 2.5-3k rpm.
Only the CF2 and CF3 TS engines have variable length inlet manifold, don't they?
