With regards to the variable valve timing, that was only fitted to the CF2 engine (plastic top) onwards on twinsparks, if you have an alloy top, you have a CF1 engine which doesn't have it. Don't worry though, the power difference is barely noticeable (about 5bhp) and can be sorted with a decent air filter. Also the CF1 engine is less fragile than the CF2, it'd be my pick of engine any day.
