Hey-

Recently, I obtained a replacement rear badge, and set about swapping it over.

Interestingly; it had a silver back, as opposed to a gold one, and when I took off the old one; there was a spring underneath.

The spring had obviously come out of place some time ago, so upon fitting the new one, I ensured it was in place between the boot mount, and badge rear.
However I can't say I've noticed any 'influence' on hinging effect as a result.

The badge seems reticent to lift, and reticent to drop also.

Is the hinge supposed to keep the badge closed over the keyhole..?

And which is right; silver or gold backing...?

Thankyou!!!!

the spring is supposed to hold it either open or closed as without it the badge should be loose

as for gold or silver... no idea blush.gif

Mine's gold. I bought a cheap stick on badge which just covers the original faded one perfectly and looks OEM.

I think I have now worked out,

if the steering wheel is anything to go by; that all the badges should be gold-surround.

Which means my second-hand 'genuine' rear badge is fake.

I see what you mean about the colour....bit strange that. As far as I'm aware they were all gold on the 145. The silver didn't come untill recently with the new Giulia 🤔

hmm. Interesting

yes- thanks for that

I think the moral of the story is; sometimes you've got to go with instinct, rather than advice...

It's suppose to be gold. I brought a OEM one. Also look at your steering wheel badge they all have gold surround.

Rear badge. I drilled out the two bolts and used replacements. This makes it very easy to replace the rear badge in future.

I think the silver surround looks nice. When I finally put my new OEM bonnet badge on I wasn't sure about the gold surround. I wasn't sure i even liked it. Had to check the new one on the 147 because it didn't look right. Sure enuff the 147 had a gold surround too.
