Ha!

But now we are all hardcore!

We should put pins in a map, to indicate where we all are in the country, and then organise our OWN central meetup!?

Depends if you've got somewhere to keep it though, eh?

I don't.

So mine has to keep rolling. Just had the 2nd knock-back on the third wave of welding from McLennans now.

revised start date of the 27th of this month. MOT is October doh.gif

That's the first thing I want to do once I get my 145 on the road is a 145 meet. Mine is SORN BTW.

There's the Southern Alfa day next weekend and the following weekend is TRAX at Silverstone. I know they'll be a 147GTA there that featured in 'Fast car' a few months ago.

hey Peter-

One 145 out of a hundred Alfa's is VERY revealing I think- good for you; keeping the side up!

Hey Ganz-

That's sounds good- although both those trips sound a bit too far for me at this point, with the state the car is currently in.

Fast Car? I am amazed to hear of an Alfa in there- I thought the mainstay of that mag was Ford & Vauxhall consumables..?!!

This year I have seen the decline of the 145. Even the 146 has had more cars at events. Went to Mitcar on Sunday and there was only one 145 there!

Where are all the 145s??

If you are a 145 owner please post a reply with a pic if you can.

My recent purchase undergoing a slow recovery. Stopping the rust is the aim.

Hey Vroom-

that looks ace- good colour!

Rust is the name of the game for me too; just gone back in this morning for the third wave of 'major' welding.

After this; it's just routine maintenance...! whistle.gif

what kind of details are you looking at underneath...?

Hey Dell-

your motor looks pretty sweet..

Are you able to go into any detail on the front brake conversion that I see you've got going on there...?

Well luckily for me, the last owner had the floor pan and inner sills welded (through a main dealer would you believe at a cost of over 1k!). Unfortunately, the dealer had then just coated the rest of the surface rust with underseal so I've been going through the painful process of chipping it off and removing the rust underneath. Then coating with POR15, primer, topcoat, waxoyl underseal, dinitrol 3125HS and finally dinitrol underseal. Had to weld the outer sills under the skirts which was pretty easy. Will also give the rear subframe a coat of bilthamber hydrate that I've got lying around. Some slight surface rust starting on the very outer wheel arch lips so will be be sanding back and coating with POR15, paint etc. Also treated around front subframe mounts, front cross member and general bubbles in the engine bay. I started in June, finished the drivers side so now working on the near side. Once I've finished, there should be no chance of any rust starting again anywhere! Unfortunately the car has plenty of dings and scrapes so i'll be trying my best to fix these as I can't justify the cost of a full respray. Got myself a chipex kit which is pretty good. The last owner must have used a paint brush to apply touch up so I've been carefully removing it with solvent and QTips! Changed the seats for black leather so interior looking good now. After that it'll be a belt, oil and coolant change I think.

You are right, Ganz

-i think the last 18 months have been the watershed moment. I suddenly noticed about a year ago that I hadn't seen any for a while.

And since getting the 146 in March this year; I have never seen another 145 or 146 or the road. (except Martyn, locally to me- Purplebug)

Decent!
