Hi All. My rear wiper seized up on the way home from collecting my new "old" 145 a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, I managed to clean the seized spindle up and refitted only to find it still doesn't work. Not only that, but my front wipers have also decided to pack up so I'm guessing something was damaged electrically whilst I was fitting/removing/refitting the motor (although I thought the fuses were supposed to protect things and these are fine!). Firstly, what is the white box on the rear motor? I'm sure that was clicking and now isn't. Tested the cables that plug into it with a multi-meter, but get no power. Also I get zero sound from the wiper relay in the fuse box. I'm wandering if this has been damaged. Any ideas how to test this or where I can get a new one (can't seem to find one specifically for a 145 anywhere)?
thanks

There are different types of fusebox, but taking note of what you say, maybe you have type "C" fusebox wich supplies both front and rear wipers through fuse F3. Anyway, the wipers control unit ref. is 60618024, there are plenty on eBay so no worries I think. Best thing is to take a look at service manual and the proper checks, then you will see what's wrong and what not..Attached File  Screen___Headlamp_Washers.PDF ( 724.24k ) Number of downloads: 28

White box on wiper motor comprises the relay and final stroke switch, to be able to turn correctly.

Great. Thanks for the reply. I've ordered a used control unit so I'm hoping that fixes it as the fuses are fine
