I'll probably be taking the 145 out there, (even though the AC doesn't work!). Any other 145/6's going to be there?

Iím here and looking at your car right now (I think?) 👍

See pics below... there were five 145 QVs (plus a sixth that arrived after I took these pics); plus a single 146ti.

Ganz - this is your car, right?

... unfortunately no owners to be seen in the time I was there...

Anyhow, this was the first Alfa event I've attended - beautiful day, and lots of beautiful cars to look at... will definitely visit again!

Ah - shame I missed you! Yep, mines the grey one with same part reg as the pristine red car next to it! It was only towards the end of the day that I met a couple of owners. A lovely blue one turned up later.

It was good to meet you Ganz. Nice car.
In terms of quantity, It's no wander so few are left when you see how many road worthy examples were lost in the scrapage scheme. rant.gif

Sorry I couldn't attach more images but I have an Apple product and it seens impossible to find an image editor that reduces the 'file'.. size of an image not the image itself. Everything is soooo difficult to do on an Apple device. Give me Linux and GIMP pleeeeeze.

On its own but I spotted it.

hould I be able to turn an alternator over, by hand, with it off the car..?

I've got an issue on another vehicle (practically the exact alternator that is on the and had an alternator in a box for a couple of years which was second hand, and dug it out this week to find it was SOLID

(might have been worth a new thread for this question, Airport Taxi)

Alternators do seize up.

I have one (in a box for a couple of years) which I am now unable to rotate manually. If you fit it to the belt system in the car; it 'may' free off.

Totally agree. They'll soon be doing it with fossil fuel engines but.. see how Toyota have more petrol endings cars planned than the Prius.. why aren't they confident. If I see a charger.. just saying.

WD 40 and it'll free itself. Mine was seized solid after 3 years in a lock up. It even prevented the engine turning over. WD and eventually after an hour it freed itself. It on he car at the moment and no issues the battery charges at 14 and bit over volts.

Whatever either of you do do not use molegrips or wrap a chain around the alternator pulley when you try to free it. If you have to make sure you cover the pulley with some cloth. Otherwise you will score the pulley.
