Hi All

I've stepped into the world of Alfa ownership at long last. I've always owned a classic / older interesting car in one form or another, last year my daily driver was a Defender double cab pick up, my wifes daily was a MK2 Golf and my weekend car was a 1990 Saab 900 Turbo!

However the Defender was just too impractical so was swapped for an XC70, the Golf was written off and the Saab had to go due to a house purchase.

So, now the house if purchased, I though it was about time I got myself a cheap project. Hence the 145 purchase.

I saw it on eBay, 88000 miles, 2 owners, 6 months MOT but scruffy and with a leaking sump. So, without viewing her and based on a 5 minute conversation I decided to take the plunge.

Including transport from Swansea to Italia Autos in Bloxwich, it cost me 580, seemed like a bargain. Neil at Italia fitted a new sump, filters and oil. I only got chance to pick it up last night due to work commitments - fitted the battery, fired first time and sounded pretty sweet.

Feeling apprehensive I drove it home...What a relief that was! Feels really tight other than a slight rattle from the drivers door and slight binding on O/S front brake.

So I have a long list of jobs to do which I'll try and detail on here as best I can, wish me luck!

Cheers
Shaun

PS I can highly recommend Neil at Italia Autos, great service and a thoroughly nice chap.

Hey Shaun!

welcome on board- that car is ace- I was looking at it on successive days online and counting my pennies!

I'd certainly feel much better about the purchase having had it at Italia Autos.

We are very lucky to have Neil within the community- he's even agreed to host a 145/6 meetup at his premises, at some point this year (although take-up to the concept has been somewhat slow)

Great stuff, count me in for the meet up, he's only down the road from me.
