Fellow 145 maniacs,

Iíve just taken over the administration of the AROC 145/146 Register.

It is unclear what quality of existing information Iíll be provided by AROC but what there is could probably do with updating and of course it would be great to get new cars added.

As we all know running examples are becoming very rare. Iím hoping that my time as Registrar will see the hardening of values from what must be the absolute baseline and the transition into a sufficiently desirable modern classic that it will be economically viable for people to do the work necessary to keep them in well fettled action.

Whether a well maintained register will help in any way to achieve this is open to debate, but I donít think that it can do any harm.

This year is of course the modelís 20th anniversary, so what better time to have a real push to get this quirky sub-species well photographed and documented.

If youíre willing to help then please get in touch at alfa145register@gmail.com
Regards,

Chris Buckden

I was reading that AROC was after a new registrar, you filled the boots pretty quick since the release of the magazine.

Im sure many will put there 145s down on this with no problems...

Hi NaanBread yes I jumped at the chance - while there's plenty of enthusiasm out there on the forums I get the impression the Register side of things needed the welding and Waxoiling that my QV's floor is currently undergoing.

As an active fish in the 145/6 pond please spread the word to any non-forum visiting owners you come across.

Hi
Its my three 145s in the aroc mag this month. I was thinking of putting my hand up for the registrar but glad you did as my time availability is variable. I wrote a few words as I was fed up with nothing 145/146 being in the mag.

Im happy to help you with registrar duties or anything else. Will pm my contact details and my car details - some of the otne sections have a register form to fill in, the 155 has one on the aroc-uk forum (which is pretty rubbish).

Good luck with it, Im sure there are others who will pass on details too smile.gif i think one task is to plan a big 145/146 get together this summer.

Hi Chris good man for keeping the 145 torch burning in the mag - as well as the monthly Ricambi column I'm going to be doing a big feature to mark the 20th anniversary later in the year.

I'm working on a form people to fill in which i'll email to people who get in touch / have on the Register website once it's up and running.

Thanks for the offer of help and yes a meetup needs to happen, even at the risk of a sink hole at the venue taking out all the best remaining specimens in one gulp!

Let me know if you need anything for the next Ricambi column, sent you an email with contact details. Cloverleaf76 and I had an impromptu sunday lunch between xmas & new year, I put details on here and on alfa owner. Time to plan another one.

Might be an idea to start a poll on here asking how many people are in aroc.

I'm possibly thinking of getting another 145 for when I'm working on my current 145 smile.gif defiantly want to keep the numbers up!
So far in lincoln I've seen
My 145, another red cloverleaf and two silver 145's and a yellow one.
2 or 3 146's too
I think I'm a member of AROC due to my past job but can't remember.

Hi Jason seems like Lincoln is a bit of a 145/6 honey pot.

Please send me an email so that we can get your's on the register.

What a shame they never followed your line of thought and made a 145 Q4..

Well done for picking up the challenge :-) I'm in AROC and I'll be happy to try to help you get the register up and running again.

Good Luck!

I've got a form together for interested people to fill out - please email me at the register email address so that I can email it to you. If you have time please complete as much of it as you can and email it back to me.

Please also email me any pictures of your car that you are willing to share.

If you don't have Excel let me know and I'll post the form to you with a stamped return envelope.

Thanks a lot,

Chris

Do you have anything like dropbox? You can put the file in a cloud service and anyone can quickly download without having to ask for it smile.gif if it saves you any time.

Or upload it as an attachment here (which you can always delete / replace as you choose) with instructions on where to email / send it back to once complete.

I've also now made this thread a sticky smile.gif

Morning - thanks both of you for the suggestions and for pinning the thread.

I'm finding the emails to the register quite useful for keeping track of people and their photos but will look into Dropbox.

I've tried to attach the form but get a message saying that I'm not permitted to upload this type of file (Excel)?

Cheers everyone,

Chris

Anyone who is keen for a 145/6 meetup at Autoitalia at Brooklands in May - I'm working with the organiser on building 145/6s into the proceedings on account of the model anniversary. It sounds like we can definately get runs up the test hill and potentially a parade lap of the circuit.

Please get it in your diaries.

Cheers,

Chris

Good point. I forgot about that. Excel file uploads are disallowed because spreadsheets can potentially contain malicious macros and the forum software isn't able to virus scan anything that gets uploaded and the forum doesn't want to be held responsible for the spread of any possible viruses. I'll PM you my email address and if you then want to send me a copy I can make it available once it's been independently verified as virus-free.

I've sent my reg form in. Here are a couple of pics of mine.

Bought for £190 when my other car dropped its gearbox all over the road as I needed someting to get around, I'm gradually working through the typical 145 issues - it seems to have them all - but it is a lot of fun.
