How about a meet up at the Snake's Pass in two weeks time (Sunday morning 29th October) 10.30am. Not sure how many of you guys are near the Sheffield area.

I LOVE your emoticon there!

Sadly, at two weeks notice, for the Sheffield area- I'm not going to be able to make that.

But for something planned more longer term- I'd love to...

Thats ok. It was my first long distance run. Maybe we could come up with an itinerary for 2018. Yeah the tumbleweed emoti is funny. They'll never be a truer emoti on the 29th Oct lol.

Purplebug was telling me that there was movement on Facebook for a 2018 145/6 meetup...

I'm not on FB, so I'd have to rely on him to expand on it- but I had said in the past that if we did a map of the UK, with everybody on; we could try for a midpoint..?

Yeah, i did read someone saying about organising a meet on fb. Lets ressurect the Nurburgring! A trip to Alfa's museum at the Arese, a blast to Lake Como in Italy, Auto Italia, Alfa events.. Some great roads in Greece too, Scotland (never been!) and any where else..

Oops, too late, but check that it's open - it has been closed for resurfacing.

I went, I saw and I conquered. I did arrive an hour late. The hordes of 145 owners had left i presume. It was still a crack going and retracing the route of a few years ago.

Check out the instagram pics. The only other cars there were the usual panzars. Great weather though. Nearly lost it on the downhill section to Glossop. You don't realise how much momentum you're carrying into the sweeping bends blush.gif

Oh, thats a shame-

sorry; I think we may have let you down as a community there. I'd definitely be up for a meet next year though.

well done for turning out though...

The thing is; once you say something like that is on; you've got to go- whether you have any 'indicated' support or not, I feel.

Tonight for instance; I am at a local meetup at Straiton, just outside Edinburgh at 19:30.
I haven't advertised it on here as the only other owner I know in Scotland (who is on here) has just sold his car.
It is 'out there' on Alfa-Owner though; so we'll see what happens...

Yeah, that was the thing.. I had to go. It turned out great weather-wise.

Arrival amongst the Germans..

Last time I was here was in April 2014 with the ex.. fixed.gif

From this location to Glossop, the downhill section (going in the direction and after the uphill bit you see in the pic), I was going at 3/4 chat before I had realised I was carrying too much momentum into a right hander. Now, for some reason, I've never been totally comfortable on right-hand sweeping bends, when very quickly the landscape wall got rather close. I had the brakes to slow the momentum and I was able to 'recover' the situation with the car's stiffer and lower suspension. Once I had recovered the situation my heart rate went through the headlining eek.gif

The '45 looking decent

the '45 does look very decent, yes!

Terrific weather and what a great spot!

Well- that sounds sobering; and like there are many things to learn about the new setup. It sounds like you have had a very valuable 'on the limit' demonstration of how the car handles.

I daresay in the standard model you'd have been off the road; so it's a testament to your efforts that you were able to recover it, I think; and driving skill of course...
