Hi all

About 5 years ago my farside Cloverleaf badge broke it's pins. These badges are so difficult to source these days so I set about repairing the one I had got with some rivets.

First get some rivets. These were 5mm alloy ones. Cut the pins to the head first before filing them flat.

In a vice flatten the top of the rivet with a file.

Chamfer the badge as the rivet head will have to sit flush with the badge backing plate. Score the inside of the backing plate. Araldite will be used to stick the badge to the silver plastic backing plate.

The rivet fits perfectly. Get some of these clips to fasten the badge and holder on to the side sill.

Job done! Should last another 20 years.

some effort, Ganz-

thanks for demystifying the whole side-badge thing...

I've often wondered how it all went together...! does that still sit flush against the car, with those rivet heads behind the cover..?

Yes. I filed down the heads dof the rivets and also dug out a recess on the backing plate itself so the rivets sat flush. No gap between the badge and sill. Happy days biggrin.gif
