an 'alternative' filler cap-

that's hilarious.

is that off a 348, or a 355?

That's a lovely gauge by the way...

Ha ha biggrin.gif Do you like it? Couldn't resist it and of course you could only get away with this on an Alfa. It's off a 360. Cannot believe the quality of it. It looks like it's made from polished billeted aluminium. It makes the Alfa alloy look dark grey. Quality bit of kit for a filler cap. Yeah I like the gauge a lot. Was considering restoring it but I like the aged look. It was what attracted me to it. Just got to fit the sender to get it working.

You can Vroom. Everyone has to start somewhere. Polishing the alloy and replacing every fastener with stainless steel including washers will make a massive difference.

Getting some parts powder coated and replacing the hoses with new ones.

Getting the cylinder head industrially cleaned contributed but you can get some autosol on it every week as I do.

Adding the heat shield material on the bulkhead got rid of that horrible oily matting on the bulkhead.

Cleaning up the the power steering bottle and changing the cap to a red one.

Heat wrapping the manifold which is still white made a difference.

Spraying the BBoB silver.

Getting some new suspension strut mounts from FK automotive really made a difference as my old ones really dragged the whole engine bay down.

Attack and paint any rust that's visible.

If you remedy the small details you'll be amazed at the results.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

This is a 'What have I done to her over the last couple of months'

Attached Image

Finally bit the bullet and splashed out on the Momo steering adaptor hub thing.

Attached Image

After a 4 year wait I finally bolt the Momo 78 on and it looks Fantastic. Also I got a Momo gear lever knob. thumbup.gif

Got some 4 point Willians seat belt harness a while back. Alfaholics influenced. On fast runs I use the standard 3 point harness too unsure.gif

Well happy with the setup now. Well.. until I see something new to add laugh.gif

Attached Image

Going Samco in the engine bay where possible. Brought a water temp adaptor for my backup Jaeger gauge.

Attached Image

Had to wire this through the bulkhead but easy enuff as done the other gauges a while back.

Attached Image

I never get bored with an engine bay shot. Yes, I'm a bore tongue.gif

I found something I had to have. The Momo handbrake handle thing. Was not an easy fit. The push button needed filing to fit. Well chuffed with the look.

Attached Image

It was easy to split the old pvc handle off. Recommended mod.

Well happy with the interior now. Some Momo seats would be good.

Saw a load of Abarths at the Petrolheadonism car meet last weekend. Nico's yellow Abarth had some Sabelt bling. So..

Attached Image

Had to get one

Attached Image

A bit bright. Not sure it's a genuine one as I brought it off eBay.

Attached Image

A bit of grime and it'll blend in yeah.gif

Hopefully see some of you forum chaps at the car meets.

Cheers Aero thumbsup.gif The old steering wheel took a while to get off and of course I had to pay the 70 for he adaptor but it's all worth it once it's on. It feels like a new car biggrin.gif

Agreed the yellow is a great contrast with the red. I found out it is a genuine Sabelt product.
