Dear all,

My car is a 1997 146 ti 2.0 RHD. The steering rack's left end seal is leaking, I can live with refilling but the car needs a pair of dust covers and a wheel alignment so I think it might be a good idea to fix the leak as well. By the way, after replacing both tie rod ends, there is still a little bit of play in the steering, so i suspect the inner tie rods may need replacing as well.

My question is :

1) Can I replace the left and right end oil seals without dropping the steering rack from the car? Like can I tap the seal out with a flat head screw driver?

2) On the Fiat ePER website, the steering rack is shown as a whole unit. I want to find the parts numbers for the followings:

I) Left and right end seals of the steering rack
II) Dust covers of the steering rack
III) the inner tie rods

<< p.s. my car is a Right Hand Drive>>

Thanks a lot! worshippy.gif

Not much is DIY serviceable. You can see the parts that are in this link .

For seals etc. a hydraulics specialist might be able to help but it will almost certainly need the rack to come off the car which isn't going to be a nice job unfortunately.
