Today I did my first ever wax on the 145! I've often wondered what the difference was between those gleaming red Alfas I see at shows and my car. I had my suspicions but today I found out. Started at 11am.

1. Shampooed and washed the 145 with AG shampoo.
2. Dried and clean the 145 with a MF cloth
3. Clayed the 145 with Meguiars 'quik clay' - this took just over 3 hours (I did clay it twice and three times on the bottom part of the car!). Amazing. The 145 now had the 'red' I was seeing other Alfas at the shows. There was an incredible glass finish ohmy.gif
4. Washed and dried any clay off.
5. Sealed with 'Poorboys' light colour sealant.
6. Buffed the sealant (my arm is falling off at the shoulder now!)
7. Finally.... the Autoglym HD WAX!!!! wiv the two pads.
8. The buffing of the HD wax.

I now had 'the' Alfa Romeo RED biggrin.gif

Sorry I've got no photos. It was dark by the time I finished (5pm).

Just a question. The Alfa Rosso red I regard as a 'light' colour so I used Poorboys light sealant. Any opinions on this? Off to read all the detailing posts now.
