Hi everyone. Finally got round to putting the 145 in for an mot to see how she faired (knowing she'd fail due to cracked Windscreen) and was delighted when the windscreen was the only failure and 1 advisory for a tyre. So insurance all sorted and hopeful to get the windscreen sorted on the cover for 50. So waited a few days then put a claim in. All good and they were coming out 2 days later. Get a phone call the day before to say the insurance won't pay it as I stupidly got a quote for a windscreen back in January just out of interest and this flagged up on the system (autoglass), but they would still fit it for 470. Well I nearly shat my pants and obviously declined.
I know this is my own fault and I was trying my luck trying to get it for 50 but I just can't justify paying this and therefore the car is on hold once again (to add to the year it's been off up till now).
Just after some advice as to any cheaper options I could explore and out of interest has anyone else ever had a windscreen fitted that they had to pay for themselves and how much did it cost.
Desperate to get her on the road now as so close but this might well refine her back to the garage again :-(
Please be gentle as I know it is my own fault trying to be a cheapskate! Cheers nik
