Hi i have a question to ask about the fiat ecu scan i have the paid version so i can see all the parameters i have synchronize the throttle bodies to my 1.7 16v boxer but theres a big difference at the air quanity that the Maf reads and the desired air quanity thats because i have leaks at the intake or if maybe i have set the vacuum to the throttles very high?

very very interesting topic smile.gif

will show my numbers. at idle ~870 rpm i have:
Air quantity ~12,5 Desired air quant ~13,5 - 14,5
Desired is always more ~1 kg/h at idle
but if you notice, maybe your fuel trim for idle is ~ -6 -10 (TRA parameter)
so ecu compensates (less fuel at idle) don`t know why.. maybe it is specific for me, my idle is a bit too low, if i turn idle scres at throttle body more for higher rpm, i think numbers are a bit different.

at 2800 rpm:
Air quantity 37,6
Desired air 22,7

so, at higher rpms Desired always less than air quantity.
with more rpm difference is even bigger.

by the way, at idle i have extreme low vacuum, only ~5-7 Hg. have no air leaks, often checking throttles synchro. maybe idle air distributor is faulty, don`t know, have no another to try, they are expensive like ferrari.. biggrin.gif

so, what are your numbers exactly?

Dear niaugi i will conect the ecu with the fes and i ll pos the numbers my idle rpm is exactly the same as yours also the vacuum is low as yours i have made an adjustment at the throttles and close them to increase the vacuum but with not the results i expect also the idle motor maybe its faulty because the fes shows me every time i connect error"

A problem is indicated in the Idle Actuator or circuit, or in maintaining the desired idle RPM.
Carry out the Actuator Test. If the test fails check:
- The actuator itself and the wiring to the ECU pins 4 and 22 for opens, shorts and weak contacts
- For battery voltage at the actuator connector pin 2 when the Key is ON
If the actuator test is OK check the circuitry for intermittent contacts
Check also for other reasons for Idle RPM problems, for example:
- Possible air leaks in the inlet tract (hoses, gaskets etc.)
- Incorrect fuel pressure, and the injectors
- The throttle plate area for deposits
The reason for this fault is Value too low
The current status of the fault is Intermittent
The error counter value is 160
Thats what i get every time i connect the FES to my ecu the only problem i have with the idle is when the car is cold it drops down to 550-600 rpm

wow, seems your idle is really faulty.
when i fire up cold, my idle starts at 2300 rpm, a bit crazy, do not want to have this at cold winter..
but after a minute or two drops to ~1200

i think, these 1.7 16v engines naturally have low vacuum - vacuum line distribution (behind idle air distributor) is very small (because four throttle plates are near intake valves).

other cars have ONE throttle plate and much space behind it (whole intake manifold), so much space to accumulate bigger vacuum numbers..
just thinking..
my another 1.6 8v boxer has big vacuum, as it should be, but it also has only ONE throttle plate and much space for vacuum.

Thanks

or cables?
