Just thort, so many people asked how I did it on the cheap I would show you...

Basically started with this -

Now The little black thing is the broken bit, but its ther to show that it has a hole in it. The Bolt is a flat head I think the general size is M8 for the bonnet holes.

The standard bolts with the balls on the end that come off the 156 are bigger and you will need to make the whole bigger and rethread it for the standard bits to fit. As I didnt want to ruin the hole, I used the smaller sized bolt with a flat head so when you shut the bonnet it will fit down the side of the wing without scratching.

I drilled a hole through this section first...

Now you will need a ball on a bolt (but i failed to take a picture of this) They do come off the 156. You will need to find yourself a nut and washer to go with it.

Ther is a hole which would of been nice to use, but the wing bolt is in the way! So you have to drill the hole inwards more, so the balljoint/bolt and then the strut on top will move freely without scratching the wing.

It is more fiddly on the drivers side due to the window washer bottle but it can be done! smile.gif

Do not over tighten the flat head bolt. I would advise nutlock/superglue to keep the bolt in place so its not to tight and not to loose to scratch or catch on the wing.

It should look like this -

Its a 30min job with all the right tools for both sides. If you need anymore detailed pictures I will try and get some.

Any chance we can get the photos for this topic back? I'm about to start doing the conversion and would like to see them to make sure I'm attaching to the right points.

Thanks!

I'd been keen on these if J__ doesnt want them. Postage will be to Cardiff.

Done them on my Subaru, but cant find kits for the Alfa. Still using the stock bent prop for mine to get over the cone filter!
