I bought a brand new aerial from here the other week. Came in a genuine Fiat/Alfa box and fitted perfectly.

Ah good stuff. I wasn't sure how to fit it originally, I just expected to have to take off the interior lamp unit and go at it from underneath but I was pleasantly surprised it just screwed in from the top.

Yep. If you pop the plastic cover off the base you'll be greeted with a screw. I was filled with dread when I popped the lamp unit out as you cannot see the bottom of the aerial through there, I think you'd have to drop the headlining. Lovely forward thinking from Alfa there.

Edit: There's a couple on ebay at the mo under the P/N 46730485 with the prices not being too far off Shop4Parts if you need one a bit sharpish.

I was not greeted with a screw, itís bolt head which you can get nothing onto as there is a circular casting around and very close to it, I just cleaned everything up and used the new mast and plastic cover.

Hmm, that's unusual. I just had a standard phillips screw, same as what came on the new one:

so, you can undo that screw / bolt, without the interior part (within the roof) dropping off..?

My aerial is seized solid which is a pain as I use a car cover and I can't unscrew it. At least I now know I can unscrew the whole thing and take it inside for soaking in WD40.

Ha ha yeah mine too. I've resorted to sliding a bit of pipe insulation over it when I pull the cover over to try and keep it a bit straighter.

After days of soaking in WD40 I managed to tear the rubber coating off with the pliers and snap the metal base of the aerial that the mast screws into. It's still stuck solid. Given up and got a whole new one from Shop4parts. I hate being defeated
