laughbounce2.gif nice one but no. It's for the 1.6 Lusso. The 3rd gear went first about two two years ago then fourth went then all of them went somewhere apart from reverse. The 147s have a rep on this partly to do with the top hat bushes in the linkage making crunching a standard option. I've stripped the gearbox and split it to see the damage and yep, there's worn teeth and a block of swarf to be seen to believe. Shame to replace it but a gear would be around 40-50 squid and there's around four to replace. Also goodness knows where the swarf ended up. Picking up one tomorrow for 40 ohyes.gif Keep your karma clean boys tongue.gif

Just thought I'd post some pics of the dismantling the 147 gearbox.

Just to get to this stage I had to take off the exhaust but the manifold left alone, the gear change and cables and tunnel section, the battery box, airbox, intake and throttle body. The worst part was getting the starter motor off.

Attached Image

Getting those final two bolts off the starter motor by far the worst job I have ever had to do on any vehicle. What a pain rant.gif

Had to drop the subframe a little bit to manoeuvre the gearbox out.

If you can see blunt teeth on the external gears the chances are you got some more inside no.gif

Had to hammer out the CV drive shaft before I could split the box. See the amount of swarf on the magnet at the bottom of the gearbox.

The selector is bolted into the casing.

Blunt teeth eh no3.gif

Got my replacement gearbox today. God knows how I'm gonna that starter motor back on biggrin.gif

I've never stripped a gearbox before - but that doesn't look pretty!

Amazing pics, thanks for sharing - and I hope the new 'box goes in easily...
