HI All,

I own a 1995 1.6 Boxer 145. The engine temperature gauge does not appear to be working correctly. The readings happily exceeds 90 degrees before the fan starts working. Once I start driving the temperature will fall again to 90 degrees. Is this normal? If not any advise on what is malfunctioning?

Thanks

the temp will climb a few deg. before the fan kicks in otherwise the fan would stay on all the time, 90-95 seems a tad high for the boxer but its nothing life threatening, added to which its summer so the ambiant temp is high. mine used to run quite hot in the summer.

I remember my 1.7 never got much above 70 unless I was sitting in traffic. Do the boxers tend to run cooler than the typical inline 4 cylinder?
