Who's up for it then? biggrin.gif

I know it's too early to plan in any detail; the track opening times won't be published until February; but I can't wait to get back there again.

A weekend in May is most likely though, possibly one of the bank holidays.

Me me me me me me!!!!

Joel, am liking your idea that we discussed of turning the GTV into a bit of a track weapon and in fact, am toying with the idea myself, the aim being to retire the QV next year and with a mate to share the cost, turn it into a 'ring/weekend toy. biggrin.gif

It wouldn't be a full-on stripped out hardcore thing, just to lose some of the interior weight, fit a set of buckets n' harnesses, some trackday wheels n' tyres, maybe a chip, free flowing airfilter and maybe a half-cage.......plus I could go with your suggestion of losing that centre box that caused that problems up by Aremberg laugh.gif

Food for thought....

I've been thinking a bit more about this, and I'd really like to watch the 24h race on the Nordschleife. Next year the race is over the weekend 9/10 June, with practice from thursday 7th. Depending on the track opening times, I'd plan to travel over on the thursday or friday to watch the racing, then stick around for a few days the following week for driving on the public days.

Whatever time I/we/you visit, though, I would recommend taking in at least one of the short midweek evening track sessions. The full weekends might bring out the supercars, but they also bring congestion and regular track closures, neither of which are conducive to fast driving. On the two evenings I was there after Sweens left there were about twenty cars present in total. You can drive whole laps without seeing another vehicle on track. Not great if you are going to spectate, but fantastic for driving smile.gif

As I said previously, nothing can be planned in detail for a few months yet, but it's something to think about in the meantime.

Sweens, I've been thinking about my other idea for a track weapon. I doubt anything will happen on that front in time for the next visit, but I've been doing some research and I think it's definitely within reach in the near future wink.gif. Oh, and sorry about the Aremberg 'incident'. If I'd known your car had only half an inch of ground clearance I would have taken my car biggrin.gif

Yeah, I could very well be tempted by the 24 hour meself. I'd always fancied doing Le Mans, but from what I gather, the Nurburgring 24 hour is a better spectacle and much much cooler! And you get to drive the track afterwards too!! I've visited most of the spectator spots now, so know the good places to watch from!!

Yeah, the 145 is a bit low.....I had no problems on the track, it never grounded out ONCE, not even at Fuchsrohre, or the Karrussell, but that rutted track up to Aremberg was a bit er, interesting!!! Saves the long walk up to Adenau Forst, but yes, would like to go in someone else's car next time laugh.gif

Am glad you've been investigating potential track weaponry......I'm doing similar thinking myself, even though it's unlikely anything will happen by next Easter/May/June, but summat to look forward to!!
