Answers on a postcard, for the intended functionality of these shapes on the A-pillar.

I think it's a 90's car thing...

Good one Dante. I've always presumed they are connected to the Philips alarm?

I assumed it was some sort of guide for the glass as it closes to help the curved corner slot in nicely.

hmmm...

I'm not sure; I'd always assumed they were to do with window-closure too; but they can't be can they?

They are outside of the sealing-channel.

And I'm not sure how they could be for the alarm- unless they are some sort of 'target' for the ultrasonic detectors, on the interior-light binnacle...?

An aerodynamic thing - maybe to prevent whistling?

Or some type of deflector to stop rain dropping down onto the window switches when the window is open?

I,m sure they are used to guide the window glass into the frame rubber to prevent the glass rising out of alignment.

Cheers Dante - not bad for an old shed lol!

Got to lower it - but means a major suspension overhaul as its clunking like mad.

I was washing and waxing this evening, and this thread came to mind - Maybe I've solved this... They're guides for the factory extra wind deflectors? What do you think?
