Much to my surprise having done nothing to the car in the last year except a small welding patch to the floor.
It my 1.6 car used for shopping, tip runs, fetching stuff for the house and garden. 104,000 now.
I thought it was at the end of its useful life so it's a pleasant surprise to have it for one more year.
The timing belt is almost 9 years old ... so lucky I guess! Anyway I had my friendly garage supply and change the belt, the tensioner, variator, oil and filter for 200. Bargain! I had the cam blocks and variator sat in my garage.
The mechanic told me he looked on line and found the 145 to be a rare car now. He said to protect the bottom of the car and sees no reason why it can't soldier on a few more years. I might just do that.
The body is scruffy and the rear hatch area scratched badly from use. The door lock is worn and tricky to use so it's normally left unlocked.
I might put some work and cash into it to smarten it up. It deserves it!

The underside is the biggest risk, and threat to the car.

the cosmetics are an extra!
