I've discovered a mystery lead that is not plugged in to anything in the engine bay of my 146...

This afternoon I removed the air filter cover on the car so that I could move the air intake duct enough to check the part number of my MAF (which turned out to be Bosch 0 280 218 219).

However underneath the intake duct and lying just in front of the suspension turret I discovered the below cable and connector that was not connected to anything at all:

It disappears down between the bulkhead and the gearbox; and appears to have a couple of grommets attached to it.

Can anyone tell me what this is???

I don't have any warning lights on the dash, BTW.

Thanks!

Mystery solved - it's the brake pad wear indicator...
