A genuine, 'new old stock' OS bumper support bracket!

In 2018!! I got it from a boy in Merseyside through eBay for £25!!

Turns out, it's a bolt-on part; I thought it would need welding. I had the bumper off last summer, and there's no saving the OS...

(Dammit- I resubmitted this post with the image turned sideways to counteract the web formatting- but it showed it sideways anyway!)

Good spot, Vroom.

The FIAT Coupé guys had a go at remaking these as well, but they didn't look as good as those! Stainless steel too.

I see a lug with a hole in at the top; I wonder if most people are hoping they can bolt them on..?

Incidentally- I had a conversation with 'my contact' in Alfa-parts yesterday, and was astonished to discover that what I have just obtained, is in fact STILL AVAILABLE from FIAT..

However, the opposite side (NS) is no longer stocked.

He sent me a screenshot of the parts layout, with a key of what is still available; which might be useful for everyone.

Here also is the parts sticker for the OS, that I have

I've noticed that they have a plastic engine undertray. Did 145/146's have these as mine doesn't?

What?

You mean, the tarostrade website?

That's amazing- I might go for that.

I've always wondered why they didn't have an undertray, to be honest...

Yeah it was on that website. I've had a bit of a search and it seems that later 145/6's didn't have the covers. I can't remember whether my R reg that I had 20 years had one or not, but as it was new at the time I never had a need to crawl around underneath so wouldn't have noticed. Maybe it was dropped when they went twinspark.
Did you pay much for delivery for your bumper support?

That's interesting.

Depending on how smoothly this transaction goes, I am definitely going to go for the undertray.

Actually, in terms of cost, after conversion from Euro's, it's worked out at £23 all in?!

The actual part was £15, which makes it cheaper than the one I sourced in the UK!

Whether the part turns out to be 'cheaper' in production quality remains to be seen, but the OE one isn't exactly a 'work of art'.

Watch this space...

Great find. No welding even better. That website looks a great find with lots of bits and bobs that are hard to find like those plastic trim fittings. Hope they accept PayPal.

Quite fancy one of those undercarriage plastic tray that goes over the front subframe. I've seen these on other Alfas. Though I've read on here that some members say don't bother with them

crikey- don't bother with an under tray??

I think you'd have to be living outside the UK, not to see the advantage of such a thing.

I've yet to see the NS bumper support from those guys (Suspect the 'weather' might have something to do with that) but if it works out alright; I'm definitely going for the undertray...

dent in the wing?

That's the icing on the cake, lets face it.

ALL resources have gone into the parts of the car underneath which would cost it it's 'life' at an MOT.

Plus servicing of course.

However, 2018 turns a corner for my 146, and this year; yes- cosmetics at last...

It's here!

And it doesn't look markedly different to the OS one- they might indeed both be genuine FIAT items...

So, bad weather notwithstanding; that took from the 22nd Feb to the 9th March to arrive from Bulgaria.

Can't believe I've sourced two of these.

Undertray at the end of the month.
