QUOTE(jam @ Jan 19 2004, 07:59 PM)
guess why i still have my old lancia delta integrale rotting down the bottom of the garden wink.gif i'm supposed to be restoring it just rust catching it up done most the welding then winter got in the way, and it needs a respray.

but whats more likely to happen is the drive train may fall into something else when its a litttle older. Trust me the standard 200bhp from th e16v (evo's are 215bhp) in my case will more than enough if that can get a heavy old dela to 60 in 6 and a bit seconds should do well in an 145.

What year/spec is the Integrale? is it the 8 or 16v lump??

The grale drivetrain in a 145 ???? ohmy.gif NUTTER biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

If you need a hand mounting the rear axle & making the tunnel I can put you onto a RWD conversion specialist in Stokenchurch, he's done many 'intersting' RWD/4WD conversion... mk2 Fiesta RWD Cossie power for example unsure.gif

It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, 'Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride...' And we ... kill those people.

it s a '89 16v one mate and has never given me any grief transmission/engine wise at all. Had it for like 6 or more years now cant bare to get rid of it.

My Plan is when i come to do it is, along the lines of fit a full multi point roll cage to the 145 and mount as much as is can to that leaving the shell mostly as decoraction seems the easiest way to keep it all safe and strong.

I have a few ex-colleagues that have access to a full mechancle workshop, ie lathe's mills rolling machines etc.. so making up a tunnel and re-shaping the bulkhead should be do-able.

I may get an older 145 that aint in such good nick running-gear wise as my alfa is only a 2000 one. seems a shame to do anything to while its so young.

I will do a swap, 1997 Cloverleaf for a 2000 one.

I think that will be fair. smile.gif

AJ
One of the disadvantages of lowering the 145/155 to extremes.
My mates 155, which was, wait for it, 100mm lowered at the front, went through driveshaft gaiters every 3 months.

Ahh, that old chestnut, been there & done that with the Uno..!
Was just letting ya know, but guessed you probably already saw it!
I guess this is due to the angle the joints now run at - are there any driveshaft length issues? Such as trying to pop out on full lock, knocking, etc?? Maybe need to slightly shorten the shafts if extreme lowering?

But then I just remember you have custom mix n match shafts anyway! Doh!

cant really shorten driveshafts, but i'd guess you will be ok no matter how low you go, but dont forget the sump sits low as it is.

Cant you split the shaft at the cv joint, grind it down, then re-weld and balance it??

I did this on the prop shaft on the mk1 escort - as it had the rally cross front memeber it shifted the engine back about 5 inches - which meant the prob had to be cut down the one of the flanges welded back on. After balancing it was fine..
