Can anyone say where connector 308, actually is..?

It's a multipin that does all the engine management stuff, including speedometer signal.

would it be under the bonnet on the OS..?

check wiring diagram under "Instrument Cluster" section. My guess is, G308 should be behind battery. At least JTD has it there.

I've been right through that section Valdas-

for some reason I seem to have got lost in specific wiring schematics- rather than 'general layouts' relative to where things are on the car globally; I can't find that info anymore!

Thankyou for that though- although there seem to be significant differences between the JTD and the T-sparks...

If you have wiring diagram you can see it shows couple of different connectors for Tspark depending on production year and Motronic version? under "Instrument Cluster". Take note of number of pins on connector, shape and wire colors - should be able to find right one.

Speed sensors is located in gearbox so connector shouldn't be far from it. I'd be looking around battery's back side, between engine and firewall closer to gearbox side.

found it-

you are right- behind the battery

but oddly enough the colour code is different to the schematics...

I had to remove the battery tray and MAF, to get a good look at it...
